K-Art Bridge

K-Art Bridge 의 뜻은 Korea Art Bridge 로, 미술로서의 K-Art 를 세계로 뻗어 확산할 수 있는 다리의 역할을 하고자 하는 것이다. 이 다리는 일방향이 아니라 쌍방향 소통을 하고자 하는 것이다. 소수만 사용하는 다리가 아니라, 보다 많은 사람이 공유할 수 있는 것이다. 해외의 좋은 것은 빨리 배우고 받아들이고, 해외의 친구들도 이 다리를 사용할 수 있는 역할을 하는 것이 목표이다.

2015년 중국 충칭에서의 경험은 나에게는 작은 시작이었다. 한 중국 작가는 자신의 스튜디오를 보여주기보다, “내 작품은 아니까 내 친구들 작품을 보는 것이 낫다”라며 외국에서 온 손님을 동료에게 기꺼이 안내했다. 곰곰히 생각하게 만들었다.

이후 나는 오래전의 한 이야기를 알게 되었다. 쉬베이홍, 1895년 출생한 사람이다. 중국의 개화기에 최초로 서양에 유학한 그는 귀국 후 북경 국립예술학원장 등 요직을 거쳤지만,  64세의 외롭고 가난한 노인이었던 제백석의 작품의 재능을 발견하고는, 신분 지위를 넘어 세 번이나 찾아가 제백석을 예술원 교수로 초빙하였다. 보수세력의 비난을 받아 쉬베이홍은 원장직을 사임했지만 쉬베이홍은 예술을 향한 다리 놓기를 멈추지 않았다.

서로를 연결하고, 나누고, 다리를 놓을 때 비로소 예술은 더 넓은 세상으로 나아간다. K-Art Bridge 가 목표로 하는 다리 또한 그러하다. 경쟁을 넘어 협력으로, 독점을 넘어 공유로, 폐쇄를 넘어 개방으로, 한국과 세계를 잇는 다리이자, 예술가와 예술가를 잇는 다리이며, 우리 모두가 함께 건너가고자 하는 다리이다.

K-Art Bridge means Korea Art Bridge, which aims to serve as a bridge that can spread K-Art throughout the world. This bridge is intended to communicate in both directions, not in one direction. It is something that more people can share, not just a few. The goal is to learn and accept good things abroad quickly, and to play a role in helping friends abroad use this bridge.

My experience in Chongqing, China, in 2015 was a small start for me. Rather than showing my studio, a Chinese artist willingly guided a guest from abroad, saying, “I know my work, so it’s better to see the work of my friends.” It made me think deeply.

Later, I learned of a story from a long time ago. Xu Beihong, born in 1895. After studying in the West for the first time during China’s enlightenment, he returned to Korea and held important posts, including the Director of the National Academy of Arts in Beijing, but after discovering the talent of Ze Baek-seok, a lonely and poor elderly man aged 64, he visited three times beyond his status and invited Ze Baek-seok as a professor at the Academy of Arts. Under criticism from conservatives, Xu Beihong resigned as director, but Xu Beihong did not stop building bridges for art.

It is only when they connect, share, and build bridges over each other that art moves toward the wider world. So does the bridge that K-Art Bridge aims for. Beyond competition, through cooperation, beyond monopoly, through sharing, beyond closure, through openness, it is the bridge between Korea and the world, between artists and artists, and it is the bridge that we all want to cross together.

K-Art Bridge的意思是”Korea Art Bridge”,旨在发挥作为美术的K-Art向世界扩散的桥梁作用。 这座桥不是单向的，是要双向沟通的。 不是只有少数人使用的桥梁,而是更多的人可以共享的。 海外好的东西，目标是尽快学习和接受，发挥海外朋友也可以使用这座桥的作用。

2015年在中国重庆的经历对我来说是一个小小的开始。 一位中国作家与其展示自己的工作室,不如说”因为知道我的作品,所以看我朋友的作品”,欣然将来自国外的客人介绍给同事。 让我仔细想了想。

以后我认识了一个很久之前的故事。 徐悲鸿，1895年出生。 中国开化期最早赴西方留学的他，回国后曾任北京国立艺术学院院长等要职，但发现齐白石是一位64岁孤寡老人，作品天赋异禀，三番五次上门请齐白石为艺术院教授。 在保守势力的指责下，徐悲鸿辞去了院长职务，但徐悲鸿没有停止为艺术搭桥。

只有相互联系、分享、搭建桥梁，艺术才会走向更广阔的世界。 K-Art Bridge的目标桥梁也是如此。 超越竞争,以合作,超越垄断,以共享,超越封闭,以开放,是连接韩国和世界的桥梁,是连接艺术家和艺术家的桥梁,是我们所有人都想一起走的桥梁。
